Meet the Team
Dogs - Baloo, Sasha, Angel Enkidu (RIP 10/6/2017), and Bruce
Cats, Howie and Tucker
Owner and Trainer
For as long as I can remember, I wanted a dog.
When I was 11, I "adopted" the dogs in my neighborhood and would walk them after school since I didn't have a dog of my own. At age 13, the neighbor's dog had puppies and they lovingly gave me one! Even though I finally got my dog, Enkidu, the dog walking didn't stop. Instead it grew! My hobby has turned into a business that provides services from Delaware to Pennsylvania and even California!
On top of running my business, I also am the Nursery Care Coordinator at Christ Church Christiana Hundred, Youth Minister at St. David's Episcopal Church, Barre Fitness Instructor at Tulaa Yoga, Photographer for LR Photography and a babysitter for some wonderful families.
On my off time, you'll find me relaxing; which for me can mean a variety of things. I can just be enjoying the day or you'll find me out for a run, taking Inky and Finnegan for a hike/swim, reading with Howie or taking photographs.
If you're looking for reliable and responsible pet care from people who provide outstanding service, you've found it. All of my team members have experience caring for animals and go above and beyond to make sure you return to relaxed, happy pets and your home the way you left it. We become part of the family, caring for your loved ones when you cannot. You won't be disappointed!
Whether you're going away on vacation or for the holidays, if you're just taking a day trip or will be working late, we do it all from walks to visits to sleepovers.
Have peace of mind while you're away from home and call today!
We are happy to provide references upon request. Please visit our testimonial page!

I am the mother who always finds ways to say yes – so my daughter Leah’s passion for animals meant a household of pets for our family. We started small with hermit crabs and beta fish, moving through a variety of rodents, including the very unexpected birthing of many baby rats (from the two “male” rats Leah felt compelled to rescue from the next snake feeding at the local pet store!). Our pack….at the moment (because you know there is always another animal out there waiting to be loved)….includes our beloved Enkidu (chocolate lab), Finnegan (shepherd/collie mix), Howie (cat) and newest rescue Bel Canto (cat).
I hold a B.S. in Accounting and am also Certified in Volunteer Administration (CVA), with years of experience managing volunteers, most recently as Director of Mentoring and Student Services at the Choir School of Delaware. As Leah’s business has grown, so has her need for administrative assistance. And that’s where you’ll find me now – providing a helping hand to Leah with her bookkeeping and other administrative tasks. My work for Leah is mostly behind-the-scenes but occasionally you’ll see me walking with Leah and her pack around the neighborhood. I’m happy to join the team at FTLOD and help provide the best customer service for our clients.
I was the original team member of FTLOD, and after many years hiatus, I'm back! I am a Wilmington native and I graduated from Concord High School. I received a BA in Religious Studies from Penn State University, then went on to become a Licensed Massage Therapist. I now devote my life to raising my son, Rune, who will often come along for the walks and visits! My other babies are 4 cats, which is still not enough (and I'm lucky to have a partner who agrees!) - Gus, Stella, Smushie, and Suki. Rune is also a cat guy, but only Stella is a Rune guy. We're looking forward to making dog friends and spending more time outside!
HI! I’m Sydney! I grew up with four siblings and 2 cats, then, when I got married, my husband and I got our own pets! My husband is a big dog lover so we live with 3 dogs and 2 cats; it's always been a bit of a zoo but in the very best way! I can’t imagine living in a house without pets or multiple people running around all day; it just wouldn’t feel like home.
My four siblings and I were homeschooled all throughout grade school and high school. Due to my unique schooling, I was able to petsit for families from my church year-round. I especially loved house sitting for different friends each summer because I got to spend a week or two relaxing with their dogs and taking them for walks!
I’ve been with For the love of Dogs LLC since February 2019 and I'm eager to continue to serve you and your pets!
Hi, My name is Kim Pavina- DiMaio. I am originally from Toms River, NJ.
When I was 11, my dad’s job moved us here to Delaware, and I have been here ever since. I grew up in North Wilmington, in Cardiff, and I graduated from Concord High School in 1989.
I am a mother of 6 children. My oldest (sons) are 29, 26 & 19. My youngest are twin boys who are 10
and my only daughter who is 9. I also have 4 amazing grandsons.
Due to the loss of my 1 st husband at the age of 40 ,and the death of my best friend’s son at the age of 22,
I have become a part of atTack Addiction where we do fundraising and 5k walks every March to also
help raise money for Addiction Awareness. It’s such an amazing event, and so amazing for all the
family’s who have lost a loved one due to addiction. This is something I am very proud of. I did re-marry an amazing man, step-father and father and I am very thankful for that.
Personal Work Experience,
When I was 16, I worked at Bellevue State Park taking care of the horses,
fed them, bathed them, cleaned their stalls and in return I received free riding lessons. I absolutely
loved it. That was the beginning of what I realized my passion in life was.
After high school I started working in the Corporate World and was there for over 20 years with all my
experience being in Administrative Assistant role to all branches of management and Corporate Real
Estate / Property Management. Christiana Care being my last employer. I was there for a year, but I
decided that I wanted to get back to what I loved doing the most and that is working with animals.
I have experience in dog walking, play time, feedings and administrating medicine (only in pill form). I have also worked in a doggie daycare as a Camp Counselor where I worked in the yards. I have owned dogs and cats most of my life. I currently own a pit/bull terrier who is a rescue and my
older dog is half shepherd / half lab. I also own 1 cat.
I am excited to have this opportunity to be able to pursue my passion once again to be able to work with
animals. I look forward to becoming apart of your beloved pet’s life. I believe that dogs/cats are such a
big part of our families and should be treated with love and plenty of kisses and hugs.
Dog Walkers/Pet Sitters
Hi, I'm Rachel! I am so fortunate to have been able to grow up sharing my home and life with animals of all kinds. It started with a cat named Mittens, who was my very first pet at the age of three. As I grew older, so did my interest in animals. Except, I felt a little different from the standard. I wanted animals that you didn't see in every commercial on tv or in magazine ads.
I wanted to have exotic animals. I was so fascinated by how many different types there were! There were "small animals", reptiles, birds; you could even have bugs as pets!
I led a busy lifestyle growing up so we were restricted from ever having a dog. That didn't stop all the wonderful possibilities though! I've had bunnies, hamsters, and guinea pigs to chinchillas and sugar gliders. As a child, I was so lucky to have a mom who also wasn't too upset when her daughter decided to set up her bedroom with aquariums and over 100 gallons of water on the 3rd floor for her 7 turtles!
Now that I am living in my own home, I have hedgehogs, cats, dogs, and guinea pigs.
I am so excited to meet you and your furry (and those who aren't quite so furry) family members!
Hi, my name is Carly! I’ve been with FTLOD since 2017 and my life is committed to helping people live a better life with their dogs. I have loved animals my entire life. Some of my best childhood memories include “stealing” my neighbor’s labrador and playing in the rain with her. I grew up with cats, I’ve ridden horses since I was 6 years old, and in high school, I was responsible for the care of goats, chickens, and 12 rabbits. I was heavily involved in 4-H and FFA throughout my youth and have handled puppies in training with The Seeing Eye.
I am certified in Canine CPR and First Aid.
I currently love and spoil two house rabbits, a cat with an attitude, and the love of my life, my “assistant trainer,” my German Shepherd Lola. I have an obsession with all things dog training, with a special interest in tricks and behavior modification. I have learned under various trainers, including celebrity dog trainer Sara Carson, who was a runner up on America’s Got Talent. I am currently teaching my own dog the ropes of dog sports such as agility, dock diving, obedience, weight pull, nose work, and barn hunt, as well as completing trick titles.
Nothing makes me happier than connecting and communicating with dogs. I am constantly educating myself, and I cater training to every dog’s unique needs and personality. Dogs have been bred for generations to live with and work for humans, and they can do so many amazing things. My goal is to help you improve your relationship with your dog. Training should be beneficial and fun for everybody!
Hi! My name is Chris and I'm looking forward to working with you and your furkids! My fascination with dogs started when I was 7; my family brought home a Doberman. Soon after I was asking for one of my own!
When I turned 8, we brought home a second puppy and I named him Oz. He became my responsibility. During our training I had some help from my mom and a friend who was a handler with the local PD. I’ve worked with and trained breeds since then, mostly all working breeds.
I currently have two American Bully’s and started breeding them in 2018. With both, I trained them in basic obedience as well as for tracking and hunting. I find myself with one or both of my dogs nearly all hours of the day, they have become such a big part of my life and my passion. We’re nearly inseparable!
I look forward to helping you to achieve this same relationship with your pup!
I have been an avid animal lover my entire life. I have owned and cared for dogs, cats, fish, hamsters, and gerbils, but I love all animals big and small. To me, pets are family. Caring for and spending time with animals is a passion of mine. When I am away, I need that assurance that my pet is in great hands and I enjoy providing the same comfort and assurance to other pet owners. I look forward to meeting your pets and providing them with world class care! .
I have been working at FTLOD for almost two years! It is such an amazing family. It is a true experience working each day with incredible people dedicated to providing love and care to furry family members.I am a walker and sitter who really enjoys my vocation. I especially love doing overnights and have an instant bond with cats. I am definitely passionate about what I do and have fondly been referred to as a "Cat Whisperer" due to an ability to coax the most shy kitties out for play.I look forward to meeting all of your family members and have two of my own. A dog, Little Prince, and a cat, Miss Mittens.
My name is Lisa Endress! I’m a recent transplant to Newark, DE. I graduated from Messiah College in 2013 with a Bachelors in Marketing, and have been working in the marketing industry for several years. I’ve had a love for animals since I was young and would rescue the frogs that ended up in my family’s pool filter. Eventually, I convinced my parents to let me get a dog, and we got the best Golden Retriever ever. I spent my afternoons after school taking her on adventures around the neighborhood or doing agility training with her. Now, I have two guinea pigs, a hedgehog, and a horse! For fun, you can find me watching Netflix with my wife, horseback riding, reading, or at the beach!
Hi, my name is Linda Dacey! I am excited to be entering the workforce once again in my life! This time, however, I'm following my bliss.
Having always loved animals, I thought being able to help other animal lovers out would be the perfect way to jump back into work!
I promise to treat your pet as I would treat my own. Time away from your pet should not cause worry or stress and that's exactly what I hope to alleviate. I look forward to serving you and your family
Hi! My name is David and I am a dog walker/ pet sitter/ professional photographer/ gourmet cook. I've been walking dogs professionally since 1989 when I owned an errand service in Wilmington. I've done many things in my life, including producing and directing TV, owned a comic book store, and helping to run a local Weight Watchers franchise. I have had photos on exhibition in WA,
PA, VA, and DE. When I am not walking dogs I am shopping for ingredients for my next meal.
I've always loved dogs, and have had family pets throughout my life. I was forever changed when my wife and I lived near Seattle and we adopted our first greyhound, Daphne. I changed careers while she was alive and transitioned to dog walking from working in the home building and insurance industries. We adopted our second, Isis-Noir, and I started to specialize in greyhounds.
We moved to DE in 2014. While my wife worked for Boeing Defense, I found Leah and started walking for For The Love of Dogs. .
I look forward to seeing some of my favorite clients and getting to know all your pets personally!

Formerly, I have owned and run a successful Auto Detailing Business in Wilmington, Helped develop & manage an Auto Spa at a large local Car Dealership & Co-owned a Healing Center in Kennett Square.
When I was 10 years old, I got my 1st dog. Later, my family usually had multiple dogs at a time. After my most recent dog passed away, I thought it would be wonderful to help others by caring for their pets while they were at work or away. It has been really great having the opportunity to meet caring pet owners & to care for their dogs, cats, birds, fish & guinea pigs.
I look forward to taking care of your pets in the Kennett Square area.
Hello, my name is Maggie Holland. I’m originally from Wilmington, DE and have worked in the corporate world for the past 25 years. I am a very active person and spend a lot of time on the Northern DE Greenway with my dog Jagger. I’ve been a dog owner most of my life and have recently experienced the joy of rescuing dogs and providing them a great and active life. I’m comfortable with all breeds of dogs, especially large dogs; and I’ve gone through three dog obedience trainings with my past three dogs. This was a great experience because I learned how to handle a dog the correct way and make sure they are calm and controlled. Right now I’m taking a break from the corporate life because my passion is, and always has been, taking care of animals. I look forward to meeting and caring for your loved ones!
Hello my name is Carmella! I'm a mother of 4, with 2 grandsons, 1 great grandson. I'm a former customer service representative with a life long love of pets.
I have had a variety of pets throughout my life. Dogs of all sizes, cats, birds, fish and even rodents.
My last was a foster 130lb. English Mastiff named Regina. Her first owner was ready to surrender her due to financial difficulties. I met Regina, her owner, and her son at Petco. It was love at first sight. I could see that her son upset so I offered to foster Regina until this family got back on their feet. They were able to visit often and reunited 8 months later. I was honored to help this family and wanted to continue helping people!
My passionate years of pet experience have taught me that pet owners are seeking knowledgeable, dependable pet sitters that will give their beloved pets the TLC they deserve. I'm looking forward to meeting you and your four legged baby!
Hello! My name is Megan Brown and I teach special education to 7th and 8th graders! I am an animal lover and have been my entire life. I moved to Delaware about 3 years ago, and before moving I was a caretaker for cats and dogs at a local rescue in Pennsylvania. I would mainly take care of the sick animals and nurse them back to health. I have 2 cats from that rescue that I wound up adopting - they are now in the process of becoming pet therapy cats!! Growing up, I had many pets including dogs, cats, rabbits, fish, and rats!! Spending time with animals is a huge passion of mine, and I look forward to taking care of your loved one!! You can rest assured your pet is in excellent care!! Looking forward to meeting you and working with your fur babies!!!
Hello fellow pet parents! My name is Brandy Hankerson. I’ve been a nurse for nearly 20 years! By day, I’m a part-time assistant to a school nurse for grades K through 8. Currently, I have a rescue Basset Hound Mix and a Calico cat that was abandoned by her mother. I’ve had Guinea pigs, fish, and even a horse. I have had some unique experiences in caring for animals, including feeding my cat from a bottle since she was 4 weeks old. I have dealt with everything from dogs exhibiting challenging behaviors (car chasing and anxiety around other dogs) to caring for insulin-dependent elderly cats.
I absolutely love pets and promise to lovingly care for (and spoil!!) your fur baby until your return! I look forward to meeting with you and your family.
Hi, I'm Kim I grew up with animals all around me. My mother’s family is a long line of farmers and animal lovers so my childhood was full of animals of all kinds. Dogs and cats of course, but also cattle, bunnies, birds, reptiles, and even a mouse that my little brother was somehow allowed to keep.
When I set out for college, I knew that I would be lonely without being surrounded by pets. My roommates allowed me to keep fish and I then eventually talked them into adopting a beautiful tabby cat, named Lola.
Once part of the real world, I adopted my chihuahua/rat terrier mix, Waylon. I then met my now husband all because I was interested in his beautiful boxer, Libby! Once together my husband and I moved to the Wilmington area and adopted our sweetheart black lab, Piper.
Our home is packed with furry love. Our most recent family addition was our son, Seth, who joined our pack in July 2018. I look forward to surrounding him with animals to love just like my parents did.
Hi, my name is Lisa and I am very much looking forward to meeting and taking care of your four-legged loved ones!! I have had dogs and cats all my life. I've also worked in the pet business for over 21 years and absolutely love it! ess for 21 years. I started working with pets when I was 14 years old. I first began at Concord Pet where I eventually became a Regional Manager & not only learned specifics about each & every breed but also about all animals. I have been to approximately 50-60 seminars on everything from animal nutrition to behavior to allergies, etc. I worked for Concord Pet for 13 years until my father started his own pet business, Pet Kraze, in 2007 & asked if I would help him by managing his first store. During the last 21 years I have worked with the Delaware Humane, SPCA, Faithful Friends & numerous other independently owned rescues & animal organizations. I pride myself on taking care of each pet as if they were my own. I appreciate & respect the trust customers put in us to care for their pets!
Hi, my name is Daniel Rowe and I've lived in Wilmington, DE for most of my life. Right now I'm a senior at East Carolina University studying public history.
I've always grown up around animals from a very young age. My family started out small with hamsters and gerbils before we finally got our first dog and I got my first cat. I can remember the excitement when my parents called me to tell me about my surprise Christmas gift.
I started working for Leah when I was in high school, though because she's my sister I've been exposed to her business and the services it provides since she started! For the Love of Dogs LLC is honestly one of the most enjoyable jobs I've had. I love getting to meet and spend time with all the pets we take care of, old and new, and strive to care for them like they are my own. I've also worked at Concord Pet and volunteered for a summer at the Brandywine Zoo.
I look forward to meeting your animals and providing you with the best possible service and care.

Hi there, I’m Annalisa. Growing up in North Wilmington, my family home was the known sanctuary for the neighborhood’s unwanted and injured pets. Not only because of our love of animals but also because of my mother's skills as a nurse. Over the years we housed everything from birds and bunnies to possums, while of course keeping a few more conventional felines and canines of our own. I still reside in the North Wilmington area and have 2 cats of my own. Chloé, my childhood cat, who is soon to turn 20 years old, and her new little brother,10 week old Pasquale (the little guy in the picture). I’m excited to meet you and your pet and look forward to providing you with the best care possible.
Hello fellow pet parents, my name is Alicia. I am the mother to three children ages 10 to 17, but I've been a loving pet parent my whole life. I graduated college becoming a dental hygienist for 10 years, and for the past ten years a stay-at-home mom. Having the opportunity to stay home and take care of my family also gave me the opportunity to take care of some extended family members, FUR BABIES! I have been caring for, sitting, walking, bathing, playing with and loving the pets of family and friends for some time, and I love every minute! So clearly I jumped at the chance to be part of a team who love their pets like family and will love yours just the same. I am super excited to meet you and your pet (I love ALL kinds) and hopefully build a loving, trusting relationship that will last for years to come.
Hello y’all! My name is Margaret and I am a rising college senior, studying Spanish and history. Although I go to school in North Carolina, I am staying here in Wilmington for the summer and I’m super excited to be a part of the FTLOD team! I have loved animals and pets for as long as I can remember; I had a childhood miniature schnauzer named Lola for 16 years and many fish along the way. Now, we have our cat Pepper! But there is always room in my heart for more pets! In my spare time, you can find me cooking, with friends, or anywhere outside! I am very excited to get to know your pets! Let me know if I can help you this summer!

When I was young, my dad brought home "Mike" a young stray tabby kitten from Wilmington, I learned how to care for pets. Now, I enjoy taking long walks outside and playing with my girlfriend's cat Porsche. I love being outdoors and caring for pets. I'm excited to care for your furry family member!
